Amy Bockelkamp graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) with a dual master’s degree in nursing education and adult-gerontology primary care nursing (adolescents to frail elderly). After graduating, she further increased her knowledge by completing supervised rheumatology practicums while earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from USF. After that, she took additional graduate-level work in psychopharmacology, mental psychosocial health of the urban family, and advanced psychiatric assessment and diagnostics. She works as an adult-gerontology primary care program coordinator, assistant professor, and autonomous nurse practitioner. Amy merged her passions for primary care, mental health, rheumatology, education, and technology by developing and implementing face-to-face and virtual objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs) for advanced practice primary care graduate programs. She continues to speak at national conferences and events regarding rheumatology as well as provides primary care board exam preparation to future nurse practitioners (NP Care Education).
